You probably have heard that “an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure”. With the rate of chronic diseases increasing and healthcare cost going up drastically, it is becoming a lot more important than before to eat nutrient-dense superfoods that are packed with valuable minerals, vitamins, micronutrients , antioxidants and phytochemicals.
Unfortunately, cheap foods and junk or processed foods have found their way into the grocery stores and food supplies and many kids in poor neighborhood in America grow up on junk foods that are subsidized with our tax dollars.
It’s an INSANE world when our POISON food growers get government subsidies, while our organic farmers get penalized with fees. We then pay more at the register to avoid being poisoned:
We need to stop subsidizing junk foods and Twinkies and stop penalizing organic farmers by hefty USDA organic fees. The irony is that those who poison our food get government subsidy while organic farmers are being fined for growing healthy foods.
Keep in mind that prevention is better and a lot more cost effective than cure. Eating healthy nutritious food is an investment that will pay. Keep in mind that you either pay for your health now or later. Fast foods, fried foods, junk foods and processed foods have high levels of chemicals and contaminates that will do a lot of harm to your health and well-being.
We need to make healthy foods available and affordable for everyone, including low-income communities, otherwise we all have to pay a hefty price for the wide-spread chemical contamination that is harming our health.
